The Small Business Support Committee provides business education opportunities and support to members by hosting monthly workshops FREE to members. These workshops are selected from the results of a yearly membership survey.

After success in Acadiana, Landrieu and Google bring “Get Your Business Online” to Baton Rouge 
 WASHINGTON – Senator Mary Landrieu, Chair of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, today announced that Google will bring its “Get Your Business Online” (GYBO) workshop back to Louisiana.  The event will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Turner Gallery in the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette Street, Baton Rouge, La., 70801. The U.S. Small Business Administration is your small business resource. For information you need on starting your own business or improving your business visit their website at www.sba.gov.

The LSBDC Consulting Department provides FREE confidential one-on-one counseling services to potential and existing small business owners. Counseling sessions are scheduled on an appointment basis with the initial meeting lasting approximately one hour. Call the East St. Tammany Chamber at 985-643-5678 for an appointment in Slidell. The counselors also meet at several locations throughout the Florida parishes; visit their website at www.lsbdc.org for a location convenient for you.

Through its partnership with the East St. Tammany Chamber, SCORE Northshore is part of SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business," a national nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of the nation's small businesses. The Northshore Chapter serves the three parish area of Tangipahoa, St. Tammany and Washington parishes, located on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain. SCORE Northshore provides free and confidential business advice and counseling tailored to meet the needs of your small business and your personal objectives. SCORE Northshore also offers workshops, for a modest fee, for both start-up and in-business entrepreneurs. SCORE volunteers are real-world professionals with time-tested knowledge who donate thousands of hours to help small businesses succeed. Counselors are experts in such areas as accounting, finance, marketing, management and business plan preparation.
